Informatica Unveils Comprehensive Solutions for Cloud Data Integration

Informatica Corporation, a provider of data integration software, has announced Informatica Cloud 9, a comprehensive offering for cloud data integration.

The release includes the Informatica Cloud Platform, a multi-tenant, enterprise-class data integration platform-as-a-service (PaaS). The Informatica Cloud Platform enables developers and SI partners to build, share and reuse custom data integration and data quality mappings and run them in the cloud.

The new offering also includes Informatica's new and enhanced cloud offerings, including Cloud Services Winter '09 release and Informatica Address Quality Cloud Services. The Winter '09 release of Informatica Cloud Services, which are purpose-built, software-as-a-service (SaaS) data integration applications designed for non-technical users, introduces significant productivity enhancements, including a new sandbox feature that allows data synchronization, replication and quality tasks to be easily copied for non-production work such as development and testing. The Informatica Address Quality Cloud Services enable rapid verification and correction of postal address details for 240 countries ensuring that only accurate and correct addresses are fed directly into CRM systems, ERP systems or call center applications.

And finally, there are expanded Informatica offerings via Amazon EC2, including the beta release of Informatica Data Quality Cloud Edition, a cloud computing data quality product running on Amazon EC2; as well as expanded support for Amazon EC2 for all Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica PowerExchange configurations.

Informatica pioneered "true software-as-a service data integration" more than 3 years ago and with Informatica Cloud 9 is taking another big step forward by delivering a complete cloud platform as a service, states Ron Papas, general manager, Informatica Cloud. "Informatica continues to invest in all aspects of cloud computing to deliver the industry-leading offerings to customers so they can become data-driven enterprises."

Informatica Cloud Platform is available now in beta release, with production release planned for December 2009. The Data Quality Cloud Edition, available now on Amazon EC2 as a beta release, is planned for production release in Q1 2010. The Informatica Data Quality Cloud Edition on Amazon EC2 as a beta release is offered with both pay-as-you-use pricing and traditional perpetual license pricing. Informatica Address Quality Cloud Services are available now with pricing based on the volume of transactions.
