Informatica Unveils Data Management Platform Built for Modern Data Architecture

Informatica has introduced a new data management platform designed to handle data at any speed across today’s hybrid IT environments, both cloud and on-premise.

The new release, Informatica 10, provides enhancements across three core components – Informatica PowerCenter 10, Informatica Data Quality 10 and Informatica Data Integration Hub 10, and offers specific certified optimizations for Oracle Exadata, Oracle SuperCluster, SAP HANA, and HP Vertica.

“We truly believe, as we did in version 9.6, that the analyst user is going to increasingly play a bigger part in the data management process than ever before,” said Ash Parikh, vice president of product marketing at Informatica.

According to Informatica, enterprises taking a data-centric approach are on average 6% more profitable. With Informatica, the company says, customers leverage a codeless development environment, automation and intelligence that enables data integration developers to be more productive compared to traditional hand-coding.

PowerCenter 10 Advances End-to-End Agile Data Integration providing visibility to where data comes from; fast data integration for modern data warehouse targets - and is certified as optimized for Oracle Exadata, Oracle SuperCluster, SAP HANA, and HP Vertica; brand new visualization for data discovery and profiling; and provides 100 analyst tool seats for IT-Business collaboration for agile data integration development.

“All this is helping the customer evolve and as they are evolving the data architectures based on their needs, we are helping them evolve, stay in step, helping them do the complex data management that they expect us to do while allowing for better automation, more simplicity, more end to end holistic data governance, along with the performance we’ve always been known to deliver,” Parikh said.

Another component of the new platform release, Informatica Data Quality 10 delivers services, methodology and tools for business transformation, explicitly aligning IT architectures with business strategies. According to the vendor, Informatica Vibe enables data quality rules to be defined once and deployed anywhere business needs dictate, in the cloud or on-premise. Informatica Data Quality 10 also provides improved data quality collaboration with an enhanced business rule builder, increased visibility into data  profile changes, and fast quality for modern data warehouse targets, including 5x faster data cleansing for Oracle Exadata, Oracle SuperCluster, SAP HANA, and HP Vertica.

In addition, Informatica Data Integration Hub 10 now offers a hybrid publish/subscribe model for big data, the cloud and traditional systems, supporting automated petabyte scale data storage on Hadoop for data lakes, and the ability to manage hybrid data flows spanning cloud and on premise with data pipelines, workflows and visibility across Informatica Cloud and PowerCenter.

"There is better support for the analyst, there’s reduced TCO and maintenance for administrators, and for architects they can use more data that’s available for use in their ecosystems in their data management tasks,” Parikh said.
