New Arcserve Unified Data Protection Appliance Series Beefs Up Storage Capacity

Arcserve, a provider of data protection for cloud, virtual, and physical environments, has released its second-generation Unified Data Protection (UDP) Appliance series. Integrated with the Arcserve UDP software, the new appliance series aims to simplify disaster recovery for small or overstretched IT teams that require an enterprise-grade data protection solution.

According to the vendor, its second-generation appliances will help mitigate data growth challenges and optimize performance with expandable storage capacity to protect up to 240TB of raw source data, and offer improved hardware features for resiliency.

The appliances also provide support for public cloud services and the Arcserve Cloud for an offsite backup and disaster recovery solution and disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) option; as well as data deduplication efficiency to reduce redundant storage.

Arcserve UDP Appliances are interoperable with existing Arcserve UDP software deployments without the need for additional licenses, and are an all-in-one system for branch or decentralized offices or as the backup, deduplication, disaster recovery and cloud gateway appliance for primary locations.

The new Arcserve UDP Appliance series will be available in early November 2016 with field expansion capabilities, such as the ability to expand storage in-place without changing systems, broadly available in 2017.
