Planning Underway for Sybase-Specific Content at SAP TechEd 2012

Plans are underway for an event specifically focused on Sybase PowerBuilder and tools that will be separate from TechEd but held at the same time and location, according to Christine Weber, marketing manager, Events, at Sybase, an SAP company.

There will also be close to 100 hours of sessions specifically focused on Sybase database and analytics products at SAP TechEd 2012, Weber tells 5 Minute Briefing. "It is a good portion and it is focused on the traditional kind of content that we have always done with Sybase."  Sybase-specific content will include information on how to use existing products, as well as previews of what's ahead in new product releases. Now that the call for papers has closed, Sybase is going through its approval process for the presentations. Well over 200 presentations were submitted - "a good problem to have," Weber notes.

As previous announced, for 2012, the traditional Sybase TechWave content is being incorporated into the SAP TechEd conference, taking place October 15-19 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. The event will continue to deliver targeted training on Sybase products plus offer attendees access to SAP TechEd keynote sessions, exhibits, special events and other networking functions.

"Last year, we had a bit of a conference within a conference - TechWave was within TechEd - and this year we are completely rolling it into the actual SAP TechEd conference itself," Weber explains. Since Sybase itself is being integrated into SAP, she says, the decision was made to amalgamate the two and have Sybase content fully integrated into TechEd.

More information about the conference is available at www.sapteched.com/usa/. Attendees can receive $100 off registration by signing up for SAP TechEd registration alerts and event updates.

Attendees can also let SAP know which Sybase product they are most interested in learning more about and be entered to win a free registration to attend TechEd (valued at over a $2,500) by visiting http://response.sybase.com/forms/2012TechEdSaveTheDate.

Plans are still being finalized for the application development tools event, and more information can be obtained at http://response.sybase.com/forms/2012TechEdAppDevToolsEvent
