Seagate Facilitates Self-Encrypting Drives for Government Purchase

Seagate Government Solutions, a U.S.-based subsidiary of Seagate, a provider of storage solutions, and Carahsoft Technology Corp., a government IT solutions provider, have formed a partnership to distribute Seagate Secure Self-Encrypting Drives (SEDs) to government agencies. Under the agreement, Carahsoft will serve as a public sector distributor for Trade Agreements Act (TAA) compliant Seagate Secure Self-Encrypting Drives (SEDs) with FIPS 140-2 Level 2 certification.

“Seagate SEDs are used to protect Data at Rest and reduce IT drive retirement costs—two key goals of every government agency,” said Craig P. Abod, Carahsoft president. “With Seagate in our portfolio, we are now able to offer our government customers and reseller partners the widest selection of FIPS 140-2 certified SEDs to prevent the loss and theft of sensitive data and achieve regulatory compliance.”

TAA-compliant Seagate Self-Encrypting Drives help agencies mitigate security risk, achieve regulatory compliance and provide transparent, robust security.
