Virtustream, which was recently acquired by EMC, is strengthening its partnership with SAP, becoming one of a select few global partners providing cloud infrastructure services for SAP business-critical applications in SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud.
The collaboration will allow SAP to leverage Virtustream’s xStream Cloud Management Platform and its Micro-VM technology to deliver an IaaS with Service Level Agreements covering application performance.
The platform provides an application automation framework that allows customers to schedule and perform advanced management and orchestration tasks across SAP software-based enterprise landscapes. Virtustream’s chip-to-compliance security architecture provides comprehensive systems security, data protection, as well as governance and compliance capabilities.

The Virtustream acquisition was completed by EMC in early July to expand its cloud capabilities.

Virtustream’s cloud software and infrastructure as a service portfolio is delivered directly to customers and through its partners. EMC Federation service provider partners receive access to Virtustream’s xStream cloud management software platform and are enabled to adopt and deliver their own branded services based upon it.
