Big Data Workhorse - The Mainframe


More and more enterprises, analysts and industry observers are acknowledging that today's mainframe offers perhaps the clearest path to taming big data. The mainframe's bulk processing capacity at high rates of speed presents a "real solution" for big data, says Robert Rosen, a former SHARE president currently working in the government. It has a central role in helping enterprises keep track of all their data, he says. Rosen and other experts are quoted in a new column in the "President's Corner" of the SHARE website, written by Pedro Pereira.
