As the acquisition announcements detailed in this week's issue of 5 Minute Briefing: Data Center attest, Cisco is increasingly evolving from network equipment provider to a data center leadership position. Accordingly, the vendor is also ramping up its data center skills support, acknowledging they are in short supply. To this end, Cisco announced a job-role-focused training and certification program that includes a comprehensive Career Certification portfolio consisting of the CiscoCCNADataCenter, CCNPDataCenter and CCIEDataCenter, as well as a product training portfolio. "Roles are transforming more quickly in the data center than any other space in IT,” says Jeanne Beliveau-Dunn, vice president and general manager of Learning@Cisco.
