SaaS is the Route to Competitive Advantage, IBM Finds

Nearly half of the businesses using Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) are achieving competitive advantage, rather than simply reducing costs, a recent IBM study finds.

Enterprises gaining competitive advantage through broad SaaS adoption are collaborating more effectively through social business tools, improving the customer experience, and accelerating time to market through their SaaS initiatives. These conclusions are based on a recent survey of more than 800 IT and business executives, conducted by the IBM Center for Applied Insights. However, the authors of the study caution that SaaS alone will not put enterprises on the path to productivity – planning and collaboration between business and IT leaders is essential.
