Best In-Memory Solution

As data stores grow larger and more diverse, and greater focus is placed on competing on analytics, processing data faster is becoming a critical requirement.

In-memory technology has become a relied-upon part of the data world, now available through most major database vendors. In-memory can process workloads up to 100 times faster than disk-to-memory configurations, which enables business at the speed of thought.

In-memory databases and technologies enable decision makers to get to the information they are seeking rapidly and more readily. These fast databases also are opening up enterprise data to new questions that decision makers have never been able to ask before on their slower, more cumbersome systems.

While in-memory technology has been on the market for many years, today, the demand for intelligent, interactive experiences requires back-end systems and applications operating at high performance, and incorporating movement and delivery of data faster than ever before. In-memory technologies which can support entire datasets in-memory can address can help address this escalating requirement.

In-memory enables enterprises to run applications faster; reduce staff time spent on manual administrative tasks; run both transactional and analytical data in the same space; make real-time enterprise a reality;  widen access to data analytics across the enterprise; and support greater numbers of users.

A recent DBTA survey of IT and data managers found that about one-third of enterprises, 32%, run in-memory databases at their locations in some capacity. Three-fourths expected to expand their use of this technology over the next 3 years. Functions being applied against in-memory technologies include analytics/ business intelligence (58%); core business functions such as finance and production (42%) and IT operational data, such as logs, or systems monitoring (25%). The advantages of running in-memory databases include faster response times/ reduced latency (88%); greater flexibility (25%); and more rapid deployments of applications (21%).
