erwin Unveils NoSQL Data Modeling Solution

erwin has launched erwin DM NoSQL, an extension of the company’s erwin Data Modeler solution. Representing an expansion of the company’s “any-squared” (Any2)—any data, anywhere—approach, the new solution is targeted at enabling enterprises to model and manage unstructured cloud data with the same effectiveness as traditional data sources.

Offered as a SaaS solution, erwin DM NoSQL provides modelers and reviewers with anywhere-, anytime-, any-device access, helping to reduce risk and enhancing enterprise governance and collaboration.

The initial release of erwin DM NoSQL features native, relational modeling support for the MongoDB NoSQL database platform.

The challenging digital transformation initiatives that enterprises are facing today require a new approach to data management that enables enterprise IT and business users to leverage the latest NoSQL database technologies while also maintaining the integrity, quality and governance of their underlying data, said Adam Famularo, CEO of erwin, noting that the erwin DM NoSQL solution was engineered to address these emerging customer needs.

Initially offered for MongoDB, erwin DM NoSQL, speeds both traditional-to-NoSQL and premise-to-cloud migrations while providing enterprise data documentation.

It provides native, non-relational modeling support for MongoDB, converting relational schema to a cloud-based collection structure for MongoDB deployment.

erwin’s patent-pending Query Optimized Modeling guides users to build MongoDB schemas that support application data access requirements for optimal data performance for MongoDB applications across the enterprise.

erwin DM NoSQL also enables modelers to reverse-engineer existing MongoDB databases into graphical models, giving business and technical stakeholders a contextual view of their MongoDB assets to improve collaboration across the business and ensure that new cloud-based applications and data are documented for re-use and governance requirements.
