Cisco and IBM announced a global collaboration to provide Internet of Things insight at the edge of the network. The partnership is intended to enable organizations in remote and autonomous locations to be able to tap the combined power of IBM's Watson IoT and business analytics technologies and Cisco's edge analytics capabilities.

IBM plans to acquire EZ Legacy Ltd. (EZSource), an Israel-based application discovery company, to help developers understand and change mainframe code based on data displayed on a dashboard and other visualizations. EZSource provides a visual dashboard to show developers which applications have changed to ease the process of modernizing applications, exposing APIs and more efficiently leveraging development resources.

Puppet, a tool for automated software delivery and operation, has announced the latest updates in Puppet Enterprise 2016.2 and Project Blueshift, along with a new set of Puppet modules. With this latest release, Puppet builds on its support for data center automation.

SHARE is announcing its participation as a member of the Open Mainframe Project, a Linux Foundation Collaborative Project. This innovative project serves as a focal point for the deployment and use of Linux in mainframe computing environments. SHARE stands alongside fellow partners to provide support and increase collaboration among members of the mainframe community.
