U2 University planning is moving forward on schedule, according to IBM. U2U will be held in Denver, Colo., from September 16 through September 18; and in Liverpool, UK, from October 13 through October 15. Plans are in the process of being made for U2U in Sydney, Australia, to be held from November 17 through November 19.

Revelation has announced Universal Driver 4.6 targeted at organizations running multi-user Revelation-based applications on a Windows Server. Revelation will be releasing two versions of Universal Driver 4.6, including a free version for customers who have purchased a license for OpenInsight 9.0; and there also is a new installer with this version, Robert Catalano, director of sales at Revelation, tells DBTA.

Entrinsik Inc., a leading provider of web-based operational reporting and analysis solutions, has announced that members of its product development team will demonstrate their use of the Google Web Toolkit (GWT) in the development of the latest release of Informer Web Reporting at the upcoming Google I/O Developer Conference. The two-day event will be held today through tomorrow at the Moscone West in San Francisco, CA. Entrinsik will be participating in the Developers Sandbox at the conference today from 12 noon to 6 pm.

Ladybridge Systems, a privately owned U.K,-based company, has announced that BookMasters, one of the largest distributors of books in the U.S., has completed migration of their 105-user business system to QM. Running on a quad core Xeon system with five 32Gb Managed Flash Technology drives (Easy Computing Company) the migration has significantly reduced costs and is delivering high performance, according to the companies. Application level read rates averaging in excess of 95,000 records per second have been recorded. Some reports that previously took several hours to complete now run in just a few minutes.
