Couchbase is releasing its Couchbase Autonomous Operator for Kubernetes (CAO) Version 2.2, offering an automated cloud-native database experience. One of the key new capabilities of this release is the Auto-scaling Couchbase services feature. Couchbase's auto-scaling feature monitors the user's cluster and automatically adjusts capacity to maintain steady and predictable performance, based on pre-defined thresholds for all Couchbase services.

To support growing customer demand for cloud services in Brazil, Oracle has opened the Vinhedo cloud region. The new region follows the launch of its São Paulo cloud region last year, making Brazil Oracle's latest country offering dual cloud regions. The opening marks Oracle's 30th cloud region worldwide and is part of Oracle's global plan to operate 38 cloud regions by the end of 2021. The digital transformation efforts in Brazil have been accelerated by the global pandemic and Oracle is working with organizations across Brazil to help them move to the cloud securely and in compliance with data sovereignty regulations.

Oracle is participating in Unified ID 2.0, a non-commercial, soon-to-be open source, interoperable framework that offers marketers a new approach to identity, while preserving the value exchange of advertising, and respecting the privacy and protection of consumers. Deploying AI fairly, safely, and responsibly requires clarity about the risks and rewards of an imperfect solution, not the attainment of perfection. An AI algorithm will make mistakes. The error rate may be equal to or lower than that of a human. Regardless, until data perfectly representing every potential state—past, current, and future—exists, even a perfectly prescient algorithm will err. Given that neither perfect data nor perfect algorithms exist, the question isn't whether errors will happen but instead: When, under what conditions, and at what frequency are mistakes likely?
