New Relic, the observability company, is introducing a series of new product innovations and community initiatives to help engineers make observability a data-driven approach to how they plan, build, deploy, and run software. New Relic is launching its new Kubernetes experience, powered by Auto-Telemetry with Pixie, which integrates with New Relic One to deliver instant Kubernetes observability without requiring users to update code or sample data.

GridGain Systems, provider of enterprise-grade in-memory computing solutions powered by the Apache Ignite, is releasing an enhanced version of GridGain Control Center that is available as a cloud service. GridGain Control Center SaaS is another step by GridGain to move more of its solutions to the cloud to support accelerated cloud migration by customers, according to the vendor.

Splice Machine, a real-time machine learning and AI solutions provider, is releasing Livewire Pulsar, the latest edition of its Livewire open source Operational AI platform for industrial IoT use cases, enhancing the Kubernetes architecture. The new edition enables Apache Spark to scale up or down as needed with new min/max parameters for executors in both online analytical processing (OLAP) database operations and notebooks for ML, and offers an on-premise air gapped solution for plants that lack internet connectivity.

Styra, Inc., the founder of Open Policy Agent (OPA) and leader in cloud-native authorization, announced it raised $40 million in a Series B funding round to continue driving the reinvention of policy and authorization for cloud-native applications. From a product perspective, the company plans to utilize this funding to enhance Styra DAS with new policy-as-code use cases across the cloud-native stack, and expand integrations with key technology partners.

DataStax is partnering with NetApp to deliver full lifecycle management for cloud native data in its DataStax Enterprise database as well as open source Apache Cassandra clusters.  As part of this partnership, the two companies worked together to integrate the NetApp Astra data management service for Kubernetes workloads with DataStax Enterprise and Cassandra to provide a single pane of glass management for Cassandra data in modern containerized environments.

At the recent Percona Live Online Open Source Database Conference 2021, Percona showcased its open source database as a service (DBaaS). As an alternative to public cloud and large enterprise database vendor DBaaS offerings, this on-demand self-service option provides users with a way to deploy databases quickly. Plus, the company says, using Percona Kubernetes Operators means it is possible to configure a database once, and deploy it anywhere.
