SAP SE is releasing an Internet of Things (IoT) foundation bundle for SAP HANA, partnering with Vodafone to provide device connectivity management. The goal of this collaboration is to allow enterprises to connect and manage devices using Vodafone's IoT connectivity platform and to collect and move data from the devices into the SAP HANA platform to support predictive maintenance as well as other use cases.

Oracle has released a free and open API and developer kit for its Data Analytics Accelerator (DAX) in SPARC processors through its Software in Silicon Developer Program. "Through our Software in Silicon Developer Program, developers can now apply our DAX technology to a broad spectrum of previously unsolvable challenges in the analytics space because we have integrated data analytics acceleration into processors, enabling unprecedented data scan rates of up to 170 billion rows per second," said John Fowler, executive vice president of Systems, Oracle.

Couchbase, a provider of NoSQL database technology, has secured $30 million in a series F round of funding led by Sorenson Capital. "This funding round will take us to cash flow positive and should be our last round prior to an IPO," said Bob Wiederhold, Couchbase CEO, in a statement released by the company.
