DC BLOX, a provider of data centers across the Southeast, has announced the expansion of its Birmingham, AL and Greenville, SC data centers. The rapid growth in two of DC BLOX's most recent markets reflects strong local demand for core data center and connectivity infrastructure. The Greenville facility is adding its second data hall since announcing its official opening in January of 2022, while Birmingham will deploy DC BLOX's newest design to accommodate the need for High-Performance Compute (HPC) applications in its market.

BMC has announced new capabilities and integrations across its BMC AMI (Automated Mainframe Intelligence) and BMC Compuware portfolios. These innovations are aimed at increasing developer productivity, helping to predict service impacts, and helping to prevent attackers from compromising mainframe environments. Separately, BMC also recently announced day one support for the IBM Db2 13 and IBM z16 releases.

MongoDB has announced an expansion of a multi-year strategic collaboration agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS). Rocket Software has relaunched Rocket DevOps software. The goal is to enable CI/CD for IBM i environments, bringing modern DevOps best practices to mission-critical applications, and thereby helping companies to attract and retain developer talent. Rocket says that with a limited number of developers who understand code on IBM i and a generation of talent beginning to retire, organizations must take steps to attract new developers who are qualified to work on important projects but also want to use familiar tools and approaches.

IBM has announced a multi-million-dollar investment in its resources to help businesses prepare for and manage the growing threat of cyberattacks to organizations across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. The centerpiece of this investment is the new IBM Security Command Center for training cybersecurity response techniques through simulated cyberattacks—designed to prepare everyone from C-Suite through technical staff. According to new IBM global analysis, Asia is now the #1 most targeted region for cyberattacks—representing 26% of attacks analyzed in 2021.

IBM Security has released its annual X-Force Threat Intelligence Index unveiling how ransomware and vulnerability exploitations together were able to hurt businesses in 2021, further burdening global supply chains, with manufacturing emerging as the most targeted industry.IBM Security X-Force said that while phishing was the most common cause of cyberattacks in general in the past year, it observed a 33% increase in attacks caused by vulnerability exploitation of unpatched software.
