NetApp, a global cloud-led, data-centric software company, is releasing Elastigroup for Microsoft Azure Spot Virtual Machines (VMs) after acquiring Spot, a cloud compute management and cost optimization company whose suite of tools includes Elastigroup. Elastigroup from Spot by NetApp simplifies and automates compute infrastructure provisioning and autoscaling while allowing cloud consumers to reduce their compute spending by up to 90%, along with providing high availability, according to the vendor.

Oracle and Walmart jointly announced on Saturday that their TikTok deal continues to move forward. "The President has announced that ByteDance has received tentative approval for an agreement with the U.S. Government to resolve the outstanding issues, which will now include Oracle and Walmart together investing to acquire 20% of the newly formed TikTok Global business," the companies said.

In an announcement, Oracle said: "Oracle confirms Secretary Mnuchin's statement that it is part of the proposal submitted by ByteDance to the Treasury Department over the weekend in which Oracle will serve as the trusted technology provider. Oracle has a 40-year track record providing secure, highly performant technology solutions."

NVIDIA and SoftBank Group Corp. announced a definitive agreement under which NVIDIA will acquire Arm Limited from SBG and the SoftBank Vision Fund (together, "SoftBank") in a transaction valued at $40 billion.
