GT Software, a provider of mainframe SOA development solutions, has introduced Ivory BMS Studio, an advanced integrated development environment (IDE) for CICS Basic Mapping Services (BMS). Ivory BMS Studio provides a graphical interface for the design, creation and maintenance of artifacts located in the BMS/TS MAPSET repository, expanding beyond older 3270 interfaces that lack the robust functionality and ease of use required for the enterprise.

The first of Sybase's regional Sybase TechWave Symposia will be held in Washington, D.C., Aug. 26-27, at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel. Representing a departure from Sybase's previous approach of holding one major TechWave event annually, regional events are intended to provide an opportunity to get closer to customers and prospects and to tailor content and presentations to a specific audience. The format includes keynotes from Sybase's executive leadership team, business content, exhibits and a day and a half of technical sessions.

Quest, a technology VAR, and Intellitactics, a provider of appliances and software for enterprise security management, have announced an agreement whereby Quest will provide managed security services to mid-market customers utilizing a security appliance from Intellitactics. The appliance, known as Intellitactics SAFE, is a complete security solution that has out-of-the-box database connectivity, 1,400 pre-defined reports, and a complete suite of security monitoring software. In order to deliver the service, Quest will locate the Intellitactics SAFE appliance on the Client's premise and provide remote expertise to monitor logs and analyze security events for compliance and threat management.

Oracle has announced expanded capabilities for Oracle Identity Manager to help enterprises significantly improve compliance and reduce potential for fraud. The enhancements to Oracle Identity Manager, Oracle's user provisioning and identity administration solution, allow enterprises to enforce more granular segregation of duties (SoD) in enterprise applications, including the Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise and SAP ERP applications.

Emulex Corporation has announced that it is working closely with Oracle to provide converged network support and investment protection for end users who deploy Emulex LightPulse 10Gb/s fibre channel over Ethernet (FCoE) converged network adapters (CNAs) in Oracle Enterprise Linux and Oracle VM environments. CA has announced the acquisition of certain data center automation and policy-based optimization expertise and assets from Cassatt Corporation, a provider of cloud computing software that helps makes data centers more efficient. Cassatt's Rob Gingell, executive vice president of product development and chief technology officer, and Steve Oberlin, chief scientist and co-founder, have joined CA, along with their team of developers, engineers, and other key employees. In addition, CA has acquired several Cassatt patents and patent applications, as well as other intellectual property.
