Redgate Software has released a new database provisioning tool, SQL Clone, which allows copies of SQL Server databases and backups to be created in seconds, using only about 40MB of disk space per instance. According to the vendor, the release aims to resolve two key concerns that DBAs face when provisioning copies of databases or backups for use in test and development environments.

IBM has announced IBM Machine Learning, a cognitive platform for continuously creating, training and deploying a high volume of analytic models in the private cloud.
