Two new programs from BMC are aimed at making it easier for companies to adopt cloud computing platforms. BMC's ZipKit program includes a library of pre-built application components for the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management and BMC Bladelogic Server Automation management systems. Extending its efforts to bring more value to organizations using Hadoop technology, MarkLogic has updated its Connector for Hadoop to now allow Hadoop applications direct access to data indexed and managed by the MarkLogic Enterprise NoSQL database platform. Using the Connector, a Hadoop application can directly read all of the data from MarkLogic's compressed data files stored in the Hadoop Distributed File System, without communicating through a MarkLogic database or exporting the data.
